Instructor Name:
Sara Vetser, Owner SAV_NYC
Instructor Bio:
Hi, I?m Sara and I am a creator living in Brooklyn NY. In 2018 I earned my Bachelor?s degree in Fashion Design from The Fashion Institute of Technology here in New York. I spent my first couple of years out of college designing kids clothing for Nike and LEGO brand. It was a fast paced environment that I learned a lot from.
At the beginning of the pandemic I was finally able to learn machine embroidery. I quickly built a business making personalized embroidered face masks and sold hundreds of them to kids and adults alike. From there, I applied my newfound embroidery, and embroidery digitizing skills to my personal business, SAV_NYC. I have a great passion for sustainability and with SAV_NYC I am able to create fashion in a sustainable way by up-cycling second hand apparel with my original embroidery designs.
Around that time I also joined the Brother education team. As a Brother educator I?m able to travel and assist with live events teaching folks how to use their embroidery machines and inspiring them with fun projects.
In my free time I love to hike, make bread, care for my plants, and eat lots of chocolate. I am so excited to meet you all and spread the joy of sewing/embroidery!
