Breathe new life into those forgotten items in your closet that have small stains of holes. Bring a few pieces with you from your closet that you’d like to repair! You’ll receive an embroidery collection comprised of files that are designed to help you mend your items. We will review what makes an embroidery design the perfect fit for mending, as well as the basics of stabilizing your projects. Customers bring their own machine and garments from home that need mending. (Items with small stains or holes). I will demo using the Brother PR1055x (10-needle). You’ll walk away with the confidence to continue to repair at home and the joy of knowing you’ll never have to throw out another clothing item again. Gain new skills, fix and refresh worn clothing, and have fun doing it!

Sara Vetser, Owner SAV_NYC
Hi, I?m Sara and I am a creator living in Brooklyn NY. In 2018 I earned my Bachelor?s degree in Fashion Design from The Fashion Institute of Technology here in New York. I spent my first couple of years out of college designing kids clothing for Nike and LEGO brand. It was a fast paced environment that I learned a lot from.
At the beginning of the pandemic I was finally able to learn machine embroidery. I quickly built a business making personalized embroidered face masks and sold hundreds of them to kids and adults alike. From there, I applied my newfound embroidery, and embroidery digitizing skills to my personal business, SAV_NYC. I have a great passion for sustainability and with SAV_NYC I am able to create fashion in a sustainable way by up-cycling second hand apparel with my original embroidery designs.
Around that time I also joined the Brother education team. As a Brother educator I?m able to travel and assist with live events teaching folks how to use their embroidery machines and inspiring them with fun projects.
In my free time I love to hike, make bread, care for my plants, and eat lots of chocolate. I am so excited to meet you all and spread the joy of sewing/embroidery!
