Pok Quilted Poncho



In this class, students will learn how to incorporate quilting techniques into clothing design. By the end of the course, each participant will have created a personalized quilted poncho. Quilted clothing combines the functional and aesthetic elements of quilting with garment design, resulting in unique, stylish, and cool weather piece.

Please have this materials BEFORE class:

Background Fabric - 2 1/2 yards,
Flying Geese Main Fabric - 1/2 yard,
Flying Geese Accent Fabric - One fat quarter OR 1/4 yard,
Hood - 1/2 yard,
Inside Lining - 2 yards,
Binding - 3/8 yard,
Batting - 2 1/2 yard X 40" (can be two pieces 40" X 36" and one piece 18" X 24")
Thread to match,
Two 1/2" Sew-on-snaps.

Skill Details:
1/4" seam allowances, cutting strips and squares. IMPORTANT: You must know how to square up fabric and use a rotary cutter. You will need to know the basic quilting terms.

Pattern included. Need to have your own materials
Requirements:
You will need these tools: Rotary cutter, Quilting Ruler 24"x6", 1/4" foot for your sewing machine (some machines may call it a patchwork foot), Basic sewing machine tools (extra needles, seam ripper, sewing machine manual, scissors), Sewing Machine in good working order.
