ALBANY: Piece a Quilt Top with Your Serger/Overlocker
Celebrate National Serger/Overlocker Month at Albany Sewing Machine Center! Learn to piece this beautiful laptop size quilt using your three/four thread serger/overlocker, an exclusive design by ASMC's own creative educator, Lauren Raffe. This class is open to students who have a good working knowledge of their three/four thread serger/overlocker. See the original quilt top on display at ASMC. In-person class with extremely limited enrollment available. Social distancing observed and masks required.

Skill Details:
Must have good working knowledge of your serger. No technician will be on site.
Requirements:
Supply List
--Serger in good working order and set up for three thread wide overlock stitch. Must be able to disengage upper blade.
--Fat Quarter Bundle
--Jelly Roll (minimum 20 strips) in coordinating fabric. Strips should be 2.5 inch by 42 inch.
--3 cones serger thread in a coordinating color
--At least 8 spools or cones of decorative serger threads -- 2 spools of coordinating wooly nylon thread.
--A small stash of scrap fabric for stitch tests, minimum length of 10 inches each for making several stitch samples
--Serger Instruction Manual
--Serger Accessories: long tweezers, thread nets, package of fresh serger needles.
--Magnifying glass for close threading.
--That Purple Thang (available at ASMC) or other slender tool for threads.
--Serger threading wire for air threaded sergers.
--Needle threader that comes with your machine.
